(Español) FUNDACIÓN PERUANITOS DA BIENVENIDA AL NUEVO AÑO

The collaboration of the Latino community and Americans was shown once again, they participated massively in the Great New Year’s Party organized by the Peruanitos Foundation at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Los Angeles, California, on 31 December 2009.

In this opportunity, the Queen of Cumbia, Maricarmen Marín, dazzled the audience with her beauty and talent and interpreted her latest hits such as “Me enamoré de ti” y “Vete no más”, from the hit TV show “Al Fondo Hay Sitio”. The event was hosted by one of Peru’s most charismatic actresses, Mariella Zanetti, from the program “Recargados de Risa”.

Very well received was the presentation of Amparo Brambilla, who delighted the audience with her popular character “Vanessa” from the most-watched TV show “”Al Fondo Hay Sitio” as well as the outstanding  presentation of the master Fernando Vela and his International Orchestra who presented his varied repertoire of bachata, Merengues, rock and salsa.

The three artists were recognized by the President of Peruanitos Foundation, Jimmy Perez Johnson, in appreciation for their generous collaboration and valuable input. Special mention deserved the Peruvian filmmaker and entrepreneur Coco Castillo, who has been working silently in several projects of the Foundation.

In the past five years, the Foundation has devoted to raise funds which have been allocated to combat poverty, hunger and the extreme need that thousands of our children in Peru face.  Los Angeles, California and Miami were home to various events that the foundation have organized since 2004, for which over 50 artists from different nationalities were invited, all identified with the same purpose: make our Peruanitos smiles.
