PERUANITOS FOUNDATION OPENS FIRST SCHOOL IN CHINCHA

Thanks to the support of the Latino community in the United States, a collaboration of more than twenty artists and more than one hundred volunteers who participated in the Concert “Artistas Unidos por el Peru” which was held at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles , Peruanitos Foundation could fulfill its first task: Provide the population of the district of Pueblo Nuevo, in Chincha, the first Early Learning Center built in the area devastated by the earthquake.

The CET “Los Angelitos” now has two large rooms of prefabricated material, built in record time; decorated with children’s motifs, painted both inside and out and enabled tables and chairs with bright colors. Complement the work, the cement floor of the two classrooms, to prevent children from coming into contact with dust, as districtwide houses have dirt floors, no tracks or paths.

Also two bathrooms (nonexistent in the area) for both boys and girls, as well as an elevated tank to maintain hygiene necessary in place that lacks water and sewer, a slab for playground, a fence has been installed perimeter and a small garden.

Small children and their caregivers, and divers wore new shoes, also donated by the Foundation.

Both parents, as the leaders of Pueblo Nuevo expressed appreciation to the president of the Peruanitos Foundation, Jimmy Perez Johnson, noting his commitment to care for the facilities from the date will shelter their children, who receive Early Stimulation, food special and multiple opportunities to interact with other children.

He accompanied the delegation of Peruvian businessmen from the United States, home of the Foundation, the popular cheerleader radio and television, Wendy Menendez, who was an eyewitness to the delivery of the work product of the funds raised at the charity concert “Artists Uniting for Peru “held in Los Angeles on October 7.

 The President of the Peruanitos Foundation, Jimmy Perez Johnson, reported that it has invested more than seven thousand dollars in the construction of this teaching module and announced the creation of four others in Pisco and Ica, for which it has drawn up a timetable will culminate in February 2008

Chincha has 23 human settlements, one of them is Pueblo Nuevo. In the whole area it lost more than 80 percent of school premises, primary and secondary built, while the rest was seriously affected.
